Burger with Caramelized Onions and Sweet Sauce

 

Ingredients:

  • Minced Ground Beef (2 Pounds)
  • Minced Sausage (1 Pound)
  • Onion (1 Diced)
  • Jalapeño (1 Small Diced)
  • Worcestershire Sauce (1 Tablespoon)
  • Tomato Sauce (2 Tablespoons)
  • Bread Crumbs (1 Cup)
  • Egg (1)
  • Parsley (1 Bunch, Chopped)
  • Salt and Pepper (1/2 Teaspoon Each)

Ingredients For The Burger Sauce:

  • Brown Sugar (1 Cup)
  • Ketchup (1/2 Cup)
  • Red Wine Vinaigrette (1/2 Cup)
  • Worcestershire Sauce (1 Tablespoon)
  • Salt and Pepper (1/4 Teaspoon Each)

Ingredients For Topping:

  • Onion (1 Caramelized)
  • Oil (1 Tablespoon)
  • Lettuce (Bib or Romain)
  • Cheese (Swiss)
  • Pickles
  • Burger Buns

Directions For The Burger Mix:

  1. In a large bowl, add the minced beef and minced sausage.
  2. Add the diced onion and diced jalapeño to that mixture.
  3. Add the Worcestershire and tomato sauce.
  4. Add the breadcrumbs and the egg.
  5. Add the parsley, salt and pepper.
  6. Mix everything together and make sure its well blended.
  7. Form into patties.
  8. Grill the burgers 3-4 minutes each side.
  9. Set aside and make the sauce.
  10. In a small bowl, add the brown sugar.
  11. Then add the ketchup and red wine vinaigrette.
  12. Add the Worcestershire sauce.
  13. Add the salt and pepper.
  14. Blend together and set aside.
  15. To make the caramelized onions, Cut them in half moon and sauté in a small non stick pan with 1 tablespoon of oil for 2-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  16. Assorting, bun, sauce, burger, cheese, lettuce and pickles.
